This year we hope to include all photography enthusiasts! Entries may be made in the Adult Division or the Young Peoples’ Division.

2010 Themes

NATURAL LIGHT. Photographs featuring sunrises, sunsets, noon day, moonlight, firelight, lightning and other light from a natural source.

ALTERNATE LIGHT. Photographs featuring light from any artificial or manmade source: neon, LED, incandescent, flash, fireworks, strobe, light sticks, etc.

Photographs that include reflections of light should be entered in a theme based on the source of the light.

Important Dates

- Registration Deadline - July 2, 2010 (Delivered or postmarked by July 2, 4:30 pm)

- Photo submitted no later than July 16, 2010

- Judging - August 3, 2010 prior to exhibit opening

- Exhibit Opens - August 3, 2010 - 1 PM

- Awards Presentations at Sounds of Summer - Thursday, August 19 - 6 pm

- Pick Up Entries on or after August 28, 2010. Photos not picked up by November 1, 2010 become the property of MAFAC.

Entry Rules

- Entry Fee - $5 per photograph

- Adult Division—Photographers must be 18 years or older.
- Young People’s Division—Photographers must be 17 years or younger.

- Each photographer agrees to follow the rules and guidelines as outlined.
- Traditional black/white or color film, work produced by digital cameras or digitally manipulated photos will be accepted.
- Size restrictions. Photo image: minimum 8"x10" or 80 sq inches, Finished work: maximum 16"x20" or 320 sq inches including matting and/or framing.

- Matting must be black, cream or white

- Works from previous Sounds of Summer competitions are not eligible.
- All items must be labeled on the back with photographer's name, address, phone number, email, photograph title, division, and category.
- Photography entries must be pre-registered.
- Photographs must be left up during the entire Exhibit.

- All photographs must be ready for hanging.
- Each photographer will complete MAFAC Waiver Form. Photos may be offered for sale by completing MAFAC Artist Consignment Agreement.
- MAFAC assumes no liability for photos
