Terry Fogarty is a graduate of SMSU and, as a nationally known artist, has done major works for a variety of amateur and professional sports organizations. We are thrilled that he has agreed to work with us on this project.
Please remember that this is a work of art and the artist's interpretation of sports and recreation. While we provided the artist with a list of over 40 sports organizations and programs in our community, they could not all be included in the mural. The mural design is intended to express the joy and enthusiasm for sports and recreation that makes our community vibrant.

Scope of the Project
The Sports and Recreation Mural is intended to be a reflection of Marshall's enthusiasm for participation in organized sports and leisure recreation. Marshall has always taken great enjoyment in participating and attending sports events throughout the community. From a multitude of instructional opportunities for our youngest citizens to local, regional, and collegiate sports groups active in the community; to the many district, sectional, and regional tournaments previously hosted by the Marshall community at the amateur, collegiate, and high school level; and to the high level of sports facilities that are available, Marshall has had a long history of being an active sports community. This mural may reflect a wide variety of sports and recreation. Both contemporary and historical expressions may be represented.
